Vee arrived at Mareworthy in 2023 from a kill pen, already in foal. Her rescue showed the best of the Thoroughbred industry: as soon as her former racing owner learned she’d been found, they stepped up to help, later even hosting a Mareworthy fundraiser during Breeders’ Cup 2024. More than a decade after she last raced, her former trainer and jockey joined that event in support of her. At the farm, Vee is sweet with people but fiery in the field — running, bucking, and stirring things up with her best friend Luci. At dinner time, the two can be the “mean girls” of the pasture, claiming grain piles with attitude.
