Lady Dyanaformer

Picture
After years of working with retired racehorses, Kyle Rothfus decided he wanted to take a chance at becoming an active racehorse owner. His goal was to highlight the positive aspects of racing and showcase the horse professionals who are doing it the right way. In 2017, after more than a year of research, Kyle decided to breed Lady Macjazz to Vertiformer. The decision and process were all made public including a "Stallion Madness" bracket to help determine which stallion should be bred to Lady Macjazz (barn name Freja).

On April 7, 2018 Freja delivered a large healthy filly who later received the registered name of Lady Dyanaformer and barn name of Dyana. Having worked with countless young horses over the years, Kyle spent the next two years working to get Dyana ready to go to race training as a two year old. In June 2020 Kyle trailered Dyana to High Pointe Training Center in La Grange, Kentucky to begin her training with Brian Waltz.

After nearly a year of slow training focused on building a foundation to support her entire life, Dyana ran - and won - her first race on June 15, 2021. After her impressive win in that Maiden Special Weight race at Belterra Park, Kyle, Sean (his husband), and Brian decided to enter Dyana in The Cincinnatian Stakes on July 2, 2021. The race was pulled from the turf due to rain and run on the dirt instead, but even with a large field Dyana finished 3rd in her Stakes debut!

Currently Dyana is the only horse in Kyle's racing stable.
