Why should you choose to compete with a mare from Mareworthy?
- Mareworthy will provide you with an eligible broodmare or recently retired racehorse to train in your preferred discipline for the 2024 RRP Thoroughbred Makeover with no up-front cost associated with the adoption or lease of the horse. (*You will be responsible for all of the expenses of caring for the horse and participating in the RRP Thoroughbred Makeover per a signed lease agreement).
- Receive regular guidance from Kyle the OTTB Mare Guy throughout the whole process. Kyle is a 5-time Makeover competitor and previous recipient of the RRP Thoroughbred Makeover Ambassador award in 2017.
- Receive special "Team Mareworthy" swag and special thank you gifts throughout the year.
- Once your mare completes the veterinary arrival exam at the Makeover, Mareworthy will provide you with a $500 check.
- Any trainer (regardless of whether they are competing in the broodmare or racehorse division) who places in the Top 10 overall of their discipline with their Mareworthy mare will receive an additional $500 check from our sponsor, Horse Husband Stables.
- After the RRP Makeover, you have the option to finalize an adoption agreement for your mare for $1,000, or you can return your mare to the Mareworthy farm located 15 minutes from the Kentucky Horse Park.
