- Judging Review: October 1, 2023 - October 6, 2023
- Results Announced: October 7, 2023
- Eligibility:
- The contest is open to all individuals who are the current or former owner of a registered Thoroughbred mare, either currently owned or owned at the time of the horse's death. Participants younger than 18 years old must have written permission from a parent or legal guardian, and all participants must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Entry Submission:
- To enter the contest, participants must follow these steps:
- Beginning September 1, 2023, complete the entry form found at www.Mareworthy.com/stakes
- A high-resolution photograph in landscape orientation of your registered Thoroughbred mare must be uploaded as part of the registration.
- To maximize your chances, please submit a single photo of your registered Thoroughbred mare. This avoids splitting the public vote. If you happen to submit more than one photo for the same horse, note that only one fundraising page will be assigned. Fundraising points will be allocated to the photo with the most public votes. For example, if one photo receives 100 votes and another gets 80, the latter with 80 votes will be dropped, and your full fundraising points will apply to the one with 100 public votes. Keep in mind that splitting votes might lead to insufficient points for the Top 20.
- Once your photo entry is approved, you will receive a confirmation email that will also include instructions to setup your personal fundraising page.
- Share your fundraising page with your network to start fundraising right away.
- On September 8, 2023, start promoting the contest voting page (www.mareworthy.com/stakes) with your network.

- The final ranking of the top 12 will consider their performance in both the public voting and fundraising round as well as the judged round. The entrant with the highest combined ranking from both rounds will be declared the Grand Prize winner.
- To determine the ranking of the top 12, each entrant will receive points based on their placement in each round, as follows (The maximum points a participant can earn is 24 (12 points for first place in both the public and judged rounds):
